You are encouraged to sit the entire retreat. If that is not possible, please join during a walking period.

CIZC is committed to making our teaching accessible to all, regardless of ability to pay. While we do depend on fees to cover the costs of retreats and to help support the temple, we have a pay-what-you-can policy for those who cannot afford the regular fee. Donations above retreat fees are appreciated and help support the Zen center.

9:30 – 10:15 Chanting (AM Bell, Homage to Three Jewels, Heart Sutra in Korean)
10:15 – 12:00 Sitting (four sittings)
12:10 Lunch
*After lunch – 1:30 Break
1:30 – 4:00 Sitting (four sittings)

5:30 Dinner
*After dinner – 6:30 Break
6:30 Special Chanting
7:00 – 7:30 Regular Chanting

If you are not able to attend the entire retreat, please arrive during the entry points noted above. If you are entering during a “Break,” try to arrive near the end of the break to avoid disturbing people who are resting.

3-Day Retreats begin on Thursday at 7:00 PM, and end on Sunday at 4:00 PM
2-Day Retreats begin on Friday at 7:00 PM, and end on Sunday at 2:00 PM or 4:00 PM
