“Poetry, etc.” and “Why I Sit” contain three works by Zen Center members with their records of what they experience during Zen practice.

In “Poetry, etc.” Susan Baer gives her impression of the ninety-day Winter Kyol Che retreat, and Guillermo (Willie) Echanique explores the task of keeping the Five Precepts (Buddhist vows of conduct) and has an encounter with a wise being. In “Why I Sit,” Kim Anderson gives us a peek into her world of sitting meditation.
